Hello Colleagues,

I am analyzing a Survey Data set. Running Proc Contents reveals the existence of the weight variable that was used. I do not see the other elements like the stratum and the PSU that are usually included in Proc Surveyfreq like shown below

proc surveyfreq data = one;

  tables infant / row clwt;

  strata _ststr; *_ststr is the stratification variable;

  cluster _psu; * _psu is the psu or first stage clustering;

  weight _srypwt;

run;

Should I simply use the weight variable _srypwt in a Proc Freq or in either Proc Surveyfreq?

Thanks,

Artp

Since you don't have a complex survey, or at least don't have any info describing anything about clustering or sampling, I'd just go with proc freq. However, if the weight variable is relevant to weight the data, I'd include it as a weight variable in the analysis.
