Hi guys,

Is there any way I can get SAS to open the normal GUI mode and run a program when double clicked rather than running the program in "Batch Mode"?

I found that my programs are not running in batch mode for some reason but when I just run it in the sas window it works fine.

When SAS is first installed on a Windows box, the default action from double-clicking on a .sas file is to open the program in SAS, so you can run it interactively (F8).  Did you want to combine those two steps?

A concern that I see is 'what to do when the program is done'?  Interactive SAS does not automatically save your .log file, so I wouldn't think that you would want to just exit.

As to why you are getting different results in batch and interactively, there are a number of ways to debug that.  First look at the two logs; are they even the same version of SAS?  Look at the command that is sent to Windows for batch vs that for interactive SAS.  Are they calling for different configuration or autoexec files?  Are you using Windows .BAT files or the right-click batch submission approach; that can also have different options and settings.

I just want sas to open the .sas file in the program window instead of batct mode.

For one .sas file, the easiest thing is to right-click on the .sas file and select "open with SAS ..." (BTW, the default, double-click, behavior will be hilighted).

If you want to change the default behavior, see

That never fixes it for me... still runs in batch mode...

For multiple files... do you recommend a bat file structured like this:

"C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\sas.exe" -CONFIG "C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\nls\en\sasv9.cfg" -sysin c:\test1.sas

"C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\sas.exe" -CONFIG "C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\nls\en\sasv9.cfg" -sysin c:\test2.sas
