After the forward selection in PROC REG produce a list of selected variables, how to output this list to a file?

Use ODS.

First use ods trace to get the name of table you want, then use ods output to get what you want.

ods trace on;

proc reg data=sashelp.class;
model weight=age height /method=forward;
ods output SelectionSummary=want;
run;
ods trace off;
