Hi,

Can any please share some pointers as to what should be kept in mind while migrating the SAS V8 to V9 from the SAS code perspective(not installation).

I guess any SAS code which runs on V8 should run fine on V9 too without any changes. Please share your view/links/or any reference document.

There is a whole section on support.sas.com that cover this area:

Also, you will want to ensure your SAS admin is converting to SAS 9.1.3 SP4 with additional HOTFIX maintenance, or go directly to SAS 9.2 TS2M0 (Phase 2).

I would not make any presumptions about code compatibility between *ANY* SAS version, even down to interim HOTFIX maintenance sometimes. Your own specific use of SAS Base (especially to include ODS functionality) and other component facilities will determine how much testing is needed in planning for a SAS upgrade/migration.
