Hi,

Is it possible to use "SAS ACCESS Interface to SQL Server" from the Mainframe environment?

I need to access the SQL Server from the Mainframe environment, what is the best possible way to do this? Can some one kindly explain on this?

Not 100% sure about it, but looking at the SAS 9.1.3 Online Doc I would say a direct access to a SQL Server from the Mainframe out of a SAS Sesseion is not possible: http://support.sas.com/onlinedoc/913/getDoc/en/acreldb.hlp/a001752475.htm

In case you have also a SAS installation on a Windows or UNIX server and SAS\Connect: You could start a remote session on the Windows/Unix server from the Mainframe (rsubmit) and then via this remote session you could access the data on the SQL server (i.e. with SAS Access to OLEDB, ODBC, SQL Server).

Just an idea....
