Hi,

the proc below exports the DS starting from the first observation, what's wrong with the firstobs=1 option?

Thank you

proc export data= xxx (firstobs=2)

outfile=C:\yyy

dbms=dlm;

delimiter=" ";

run;

Simone

The code works fine for me, assuming you want to skip the first row of your dataset?

Hi smygarn,

yes I'd skip the first row.

I don't understand why it doesn't work. This is my alternative:

data _null_;

file 'C:\yyy' delimiter=' ' DSD DROPOVER lrecl=32767;

set xxx;

format var1 $13. ;

format var2 $3. ;

do;

put var1 $ @;

put var2 $ ;

;

end;

run;

What are you trying to accomplish?  Are you just trying NOT to include the variable names?  If so, use the option putnames=no.  Take a look at: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/acpcref/63184/HTML/default/viewer.htm#a003103525.htm
