Hi,
can I use CAST in proc sql to convert into data types;
for example:
proc sql;
select cast ('10:56:49' as TIME);
quit;
If you're using SQL Pass Through where the query is going to the database then yes.
If you're using SAS SQL then no. The corresponding functions in SAS is PUT or INPUT.
As stated in your other thread, SAS isn't using the same syntax that your previous RDBMS does.
SAS uses ANSI 92 SQL, with some extensions.
If you get a syntax error in your SQL, please go to support.sas.com and search first. It's gonna be tedious to post every similar issue here...
