There is an option to use with PROC CONTENTS (I think) that will make all variables upper case.  Can anyone help?

I don't know about a proc contents option, but you can always set the system option.  e.g.,

options validvarname=upcase;

proc contents data=sashelp.class;

run;

If you are looking to collect a variable list for a given table you can also use the sashelp.vcolumns table instead of proc contents and upcase the name as part of the extract.
