Output a string longer then 255 without wrapping

I'm outputting some character data and some of the strings are long then 255 and they wrap within my txt file. Is there a way to avoid the wrapping? My text editor can handle more then 255.

Share your code - otherwise expect that you need to code an LRECL= parameter.
