Typically, that means that the model is over-specified. It is somewhat of an artifact of the way ANOVA reports results.
Say you have a factor, SEX, with 2 levels as an explanatory variable. Then one of the two levels will have a missing value in the ANOVA table, as two levels just provide for one degree of freedom for the test.
