Anyone know is the migration of SAS/AF programs from v8.2 to v9.2 easy? What's the major problem to consider? We are using whole SAS v8.2 with SAS/AF running on W2K. We are planning to migration to Windows Vista or even Windows 7! Many thx!

First of all, I would not bother with Vista. Definitely go for Windows 7.

As to the AF migration, I have not yet used v9.2, only v9.1.3, but based upon past usage and previous migrations, you should be able to migrate existing code easily. You should review the new version to see if there are features that could be introduced to make your existing application(s) work more efficiently. Clearly, you should implement normal development and testing strategys to ensure seamless introduction of these features.

Thx so much.Do u mean ur experience is that no change is required after migrating to AF v9.1.3 on the AF programs? In our environment, we also user SAS share and SAS connect. The AF programs talk with the SAS running on AIX server. Everything is in V8.2. Do you know if it is a must to migrate the server SAS as well? Thx again for sharing!
