I'm trying to import a txt file with several columns. I don't get any error messages but the resulting Sas dataset does not recognize all the columns and has all the data in only one column. How can I change the file or proc import code to recognize all the columns? Thanks for your help!
tell us more about the file. It may be better to just read it with the INFILE statement and a DATA step.
Post the data step code generated by proc import and descriptions of what you expected. Is your data delimited or fixed column?
This question is occurred usually by not identifying the delimiter or assign a wrong delimiter.
e.g. The file's delimiter is TAB character ( '09'x '05'x ), but you think it is a white blank.
