IMPORT EXCEL FILE USING PROC IMPORT

Hello, I want to import xls/xlsx file using proc import.

PROC IMPORT OUT= WORK.auto1 DATAFILE= "C:\test.xls" 
            DBMS=xls REPLACE; 
            GETNAMES=YES;
	    GUESSINGROWS=100;
            SCANTEXT=YES;                                                                                                                                                                   
RUN;

My question is why I can't use options SCANTEXT / USEDATA / SCANTIME ?

I want to read excel formats.

From the documentation I take it that those are not stand-alone statements, but options that have to be part of the proc import statement.
