I want to import excel file in sas but the header name is splitted in two rows. For ex: suppose header name is "total Price" then total is written in 1 row while price is written just below row .how can i read both as one or can concanate.File extension is .xls.
Is this a one time task or will you be reading multiple files with the same format?
If this is a one-time then perhaps merging the cells in Excel.
If I were to be reading many of these files I would 1)save them to CSV and 2) write a Datastep to read the files and have the code set the variable names and start reading with OBS=3 on the infile statement.
Because of other data issues inherit in Excel I would actuall likely go the CSV route anyway.
Can you post some data(attach a excel file) to let us test ?
