I have 2 tables I need to create a new table where the key doesn't match here is example
TABLE 1
ID. date. key
A. 06/01/15. 1
A. 06/02/16. 23
here is example
TABLE 2
ID. date. key
A. 06/01/15. 3
A. 06/02/16. 23

here what I want to see

TABLE 3
ID. date. key
A. 06/02/16. 3
The key 1 is not needed ... I'm kicking around merge I just need the key where there is no match thanks

Here's a try for simple data such as you show.

If there are many duplicates of ID*date combinations may not work.

proc sql;
   create table want
   as select b.*
   from table1 as a left join table2 as b
      on a.id=b.id and a.date=b.date
   where a.key ne b.key;
quit;
