I have a numeric date variable with the format BEST12 and informat BEST32 assigned to it. I want to change it to MMDDYY10. How can I do this?

I just figured this out. This is what I am doing and it works. Thank you very much.

 

data temp;

set flowsheet;

 

service_day2= input(put(service_day, z8.),yymmdd8.);

format service_day2 mmddyy10.;

drop service_day;

rename service_day2= service_day;

run;

Post example test data in the form of a datastep.  Otherwise I am just guessing what you have!  Is it looking like this?

data want;
  num_var=20180212;
  date_var=input(put(num_date,8.),yymmdd8.);
  format date_var date9.;
run;
