Say I have an excel file called direct.xls location c:\MyDocs\ and I have a sas dataset called allfile.  Both have the same variables and allfile is not too large for excel.  I want to export the sas dataset allfile into my existing direct.xls sheet1.  How can I do this with proc append?

Thanks in advance.

You can do it using the excel engine in a libref assignment.  Example code for doing exactly what you want is described in the following paper: http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi31/024-31.pdf
