I have been receiving the follow error:

Closing data set SASHELP.DESKACT left open by program

SAS then becomes totally/completely unresponsive (cannot close windows, cannot save files) and I have to terminate the session.

I am not doing anything unusual or sophisticated.  I have not accessed SASHELP.DESKACT

Here are my system details.

SAS (r) Proprietary Software 9.4 (TS1M1)

This session is executing on the X64_7PRO  platform.

NOTE: Updated analytical products:

      SAS/STAT 13.1
      SAS/ETS 13.1
      SAS/OR 13.1
      SAS/IML 13.1
      SAS/QC 13.1

NOTE: Additional host information:

X64_7PRO WIN 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Workstation

Any suggestions regarding what to do to track this down further would be greatly appreciated.

Very annoying.

Thank you.

The dataset in question appears to be one related to managing the SAS desktop. In this case menu items. So your system likely is accessing it, or attempting to. If the file has become corrupted that might be an issue. I would be tempted to try reinstalling SAS or contact Tech Support
