SAS will use CEDA (cross-environment data access) to read/write datasets created on another plattform, resulting in an increased runtime.

Under most situation, it can not be except for sas code.
If you want interchange between Windows and Linux , it would be better choice to use
proc cport / proc copy to make a transported file.
