SAS program document *.sas is an unformatted text document much like any other *.txt document.  If I change the file extension from *.sas to *.txt the contents of my SAS programs show up in the Preview Pane of the Windows File Explorer.  Is there a way to get them to show up without changing the file extension?  Would be very useful for quick preview without having to open the programs.

Thanks,

Haris

This link has a couple of approaches:

Windows 7 - Preview other file types as text in Preview Pane - Super User

basically either edit the Windows registry or use a program called PreviewConfig from http://www.winhelponline.com/utils/previewconfig.zip
