Between start and end

HI I have a data step that pulls in a data by the range of date

data_null ; a=today();

call symput('beg'," ' "||put(a-8,mmddyy10.)||"'");

call symput('end' ," ' "||put(a,mmddyy10.)||"'");

where date between &Beg.  And &end.

date is formatted date time 22.3

i want pull everything from 8 days to current
