Use Case

Retailers forecast sales, but rarely anticipate the packaging footprint that comes with them. Our use case focuses on connecting sales forecasting with carbon footprint tracking in the retail beverage sector. We developed a practical solution that predicts product sales while estimating the environmental impact through CO₂ emissions and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees tied to packaging materials. This approach allows planners to see how business decisions affect both financial and environmental outcomes. Using an interactive SAS Viya dashboard, they can track emissions, monitor EPR costs, and test future scenarios—helping the business plan more sustainably while staying competitive.

Excellent, well done, very clear connection to a hot topic in the industry.

Love this - outside of the normal Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directives, people want to invest in and do business with companies who can speak to their environmental impact. Win Win!

Very cool idea - and nice execution.  Nice job, PC Cake!
