Hi All,

What is the best form of transport to get around Dallas? I looking for a easy way to move around town and will allow me to see as much as I can.

Thanks,

Ross

For downtown, there is a free bus line (D-LINK). A days pass for public transport in the Dallas area comes a US$ 6.

My research has found that most important places in the downtown area are within a half-hour walk from the convention center (Aquarium, Dealey Plaza, Farmers Market, ...)

Depends on what you want to see. DART is okay, but be ready to walk.

There are good details/resources about transportation options here:

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of free & inexpensive transportation options.

Thanks for posting this Liz.  it looks like I can use DLink for free to get to Pecan Lodge for BBQ and to the Majestic Theater for the Robert Cray concert.

The Dallas Light Rail system (DART) is a convenient way to get around. Its connected to both DFW and Dallas Love Field Airports, and goes right into downtown. I think you'll find most attractions and downtown hotels in Dallas a just a few blocks from a DART stop.

Here's a link to the DART site - https://www.dart.org/

I do like to use DART too but do note that the schedule for weekend is not that convenient.

Yeah, that's right. They're suspending service in downtown dallas on weekends, because of track improvements.

Starting March 30 - September.

There is a notice about the DART scheduled in the SAS Global Forum conference app under Conference Info & Resources.

There are DART disruptions on the weekend, which will affect anyone coming into town from DFW on the Orange Line.

I've posted info here.

@gmbaker - might be worth adding a note to the travel section in the SGF app (which I haven't got around to downloading yet..)?

I was actually looking for the app and didn’t find it.  Things different this year?
