Perhaps you mean this:
http://support.sas.com/documentation/whatsnew/91x/hpfugwhatsnew900.htm

(from the documentation:
HPF Procedure
The HPF procedure has the following new features:
...
The new IDM statement is related to intermittent demand models.)

Consulting the documentation for more information on intermittent demand models and high performance forecasting will help you understand IDM and SAS. A search for the term "intermittent demand model" on support.sas.com came up with almost 20 hits. A search on the string "intermittent demand model SAS" on Google came up with many more hits.

May i know the difference betwen SAS HPF and SAS Forecasting Server?.
Are they different?. Or once we are running models on forecast server Where will appear HPF ? Is it default r another?.
Thanks,

Hi:
This paper states the relationship very succinctly:
http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/forum2007/245-2007.pdf
"The SAS High Performance Forecasting component includes procedures which facilitate choosing and applying the best model to many individual forecast endpoints and display the results back in a hierarchical manner. For example, if your company wants to produce forecasts for 10,000 products across many stores and regions. SAS High Performance Forecasting would go through each product one by one and figure out the best underlying model to use then produce the forecast. It would then reconcile the forecast across the hierarchies (region, store, product type).

SAS Forecast Server is a GUI front end and analytics platform to facilitate building these models across hierarchical data."

Searching on support.sas.com for the string "HPF" returned many results. This is just one of them:
http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi28/051-28.pdf

Searching on support.sas.com for the string "Forecast Server" also returned many results. This is just one of them -- it contains a specific example of comparing PROC HPF results with using the Forecast Server GUI (graphical user interface) front end:
http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi30/194-30.pdf

Support.sas.com has many resources other than this forum. One of the resources is a good search facility. Generally, a search will come back with hits for the relevant documentation AND user-group papers on a particular topic. For example, this is just one of the documentation sites returned in a search on support.sas.com:
http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/91pdf/sasdoc_913/hp_ug_10367.pdf

In the instance where you do not find hits on support.sas.com, a Google search may reveal more hits.

Once you have a general understanding of various products and solutions, from doing research, it may be easier to ask more targeted questions on the forum or to open a track with Tech Support for more help with a product or solution.
