So i figured how u can add an event to one of the models in the forecast( for example i have many Regions but the event takes place in only one of them)but this is after you run the forecast and u copy the selected model then add an event. But if you want to run the forecast with the event before ,so in the model chosen takes account for the event?

Hello -

You may want to turn your event into a indicator variable in our table (and put a 1 for only the regions impacted) - and use an independent variable instead of event.

Thanks,

Udo

Realy you cannot select series to add an event? so if you add an event it should apply for all the series? That doesnt make sense and the event feture is not that helpful right? Cause if you run a promotion it doesnt mean that all the regions will run at the same month.

Hello -

You can always add events to individual series in the modeling view.

For a more automatic approach you will have to fall back to independent variables currently or switch to coding (see: https://communities.sas.com/t5/Forecasting-and-Econometrics/Using-eventby-in-a-group-of-events/m-p/3... - however with SAS Forecasting for Desktop you won't have access to code.

Thanks,

Udo
