Hello all,

can someone please tell me what are the windows services needs to be in "start" mode on server itself where SAS foundation (and other applications) installed to work with all SAS applications?

In a Windows environment, the minimum startup involves:

- SAS Metadata Server, which will show as a SAS.EXE process

- SAS Object Spawner, which will show as objspawn.exe

Usually there are other services in the mix too, but the metadata server is needed to "direct" EG to the available workspace definitions, and object spawner is needed to spin up a SAS workspace when you connect.

"All SAS applications" is not very specific, and my answer should in that case be - all...

Why do you ask? What is your "problem"?

the reason i am asking is our SAS EG is not getting started, not getting connected with workspace sever, so i was wonder what are other windows services must be started along with all SAS services?

Thank you...

Okay Thanks Chris. By the way when is your new version "SAS for Dummies" coming up?
