What are you trying to connect?   Local?

I suggest a re-install of EG would be worth trying.

Besides a re-installation maybe there are a couple of options to consider:

what this error msg says is that one of your COM components required by Enterprise Guide are not registered in Windows, so you cannot connect to your metadata/workspace server(local or remote). Then:

you can try to register them running EGuide.exe /register... If you have admin rights on your computer. Probably you will need an admin Or support guy (If you are not Smiley Wink )

this is maybe a virtualised installation of EGuide. Virtualised installations require to follow some specific recipes (standard requirement for many virtualization client software). There are also a couple of SAS SAS papers providing the recipe for your specific SAS version.
