Hi,

Is there a way to hide or restrict the folders on SAS EG to other user or groups on file system level?
I'm referring to "Files" folder under Libraries when logged in on EG.

Hiding metadata folders happens automatically: you see folders only, if you are allowed to read metadata. Hiding file system directories is not possible, at least i don't know any os that supports this.

EDIT: A screenshot would help to see, what you mean actually.

It will depend on what system you are using, in both you would need elevated privileges, example sas viya allows you to do this via SAS security but only person that can do that would be the SAS administrator. On SAS 9.4 environment the only way to get something similar would be to have an system administrator set permission on server(operating system) to hide folders from others.

Please contact your SAS Administrators for more information.

Yes it is possible. Your admin is the best person to help on this.

There is no "Files" under "Libraries". Files and Libraries are both parts of the navigation tree for a given server, on the same hierarchy level.

Libraries can be hidden by making the physical directory non-readable and non-accessible on the OS level, and/or by making them metadata-bound and setting the permissions in metadata.

Folders in Files (file system directories) can not be hidden, only their content. Their names will always show up if a user has read permission for the parent directory.
