is it possible to add text to the project designer?

There are notes you can add File/New/Note

I saw that but the content of the note is not visible when viewing the project.

The Note object is one way to do it, right now. Some folks use the label of the Note object to include some hint text (Rename the note).

In a future release we plan to have something like a "sticky note" style of annotation.

Until something better is available I don't see using EG in a production environment where code must be documented. I just will not be able to sell it to management as a viable alternative to writing code

As you might know...you can use EG to write code, and document that code inline as you do today.

You can open SAS programs that reside on your local disk, or on the filesystem of a remote SAS server, edit them in place, run them and collect the results within EG.

You can also add links to external documents, such as Word files and other text files, into your project. Thus you've used EG as a place to gather and assemble your work, but it also remains accessible and usable by other tools outside of EG.

Hi Chris,

I was wondering if you could run the SAS EG in local computer or only in the server?

Saran,

EG runs on your local PC (MS Windows), but it connects to a SAS session to do all SAS "work" (access data, run programs, etc.).

That SAS session can also be on your local PC (SAS for Windows), or on a remote server (Windows, Unix, z/OS).

Thanks Chris. But is it possible to connect to sas server remotely without having sas installed in the local machine. By the way is there any way to schedule the EG processes or to run in batch process only..
