I recall that sas BI cannot run on x64 wintel, but x32 wintel cannot use more than 4GB of physical memory without resorting to PAE. How do you guys work around these limitations inherent in your SAS physical architecture? Or is this a case whereby unix is probably the best (and most expensive) option in terms of fully utilizing the hardware?

I'm confused by this question. EG is a client tool and doesn't seem to use all that much memory. BI is a different product and is off-topic for this forum.

My bad. you are right. I was thinking more of SAS as a suite of products. I hope there'll be a forum for enterprise deployment and administrators in the near future, as I know some of these queries dont really fall neatly into any of the existing forums Message was edited by: Joshua

and you will see the x64 support options for 9.2 🙂
