Hello,
Is it possible to create a Template SAS Data Set using an XML Schema Definition file.
Regards,
Alain
Yes, it is true and I apologize for that.
First I have worked with XML files few years ago mostly with Excel and programing in VBA.
Secondly, I have very little of experience how to deal with xml file in SAS.
Thirdly, my colleague asked me at the beginning just to take a SAS data set and to transform it in xml file.
Few days after, it want an xml file with a precise schema. Now it is possible to have it trough the xml mapper.
Today it is something else....
With the time, it idea and the work I have to do become clearer.
Finally I have found a paper on the web where the author is doing exactly what my colleague would like to, except the author start from a SAS data set and complementary information to create his template. This template is use in his procedure to validate data set.
At the office, the have produce an XML Schema Definition file and has put constraints in it regarding the dataset to be validated before going into transformation. Is it the best approach. I don't know.
So what I have in mind, it is to start from the XSD file to make the Template SAS Data set and to continue with the proposed procedure by the author I have found.
I hope you understand the situation I am dealing with and hope that you will give me some help.
Regards,
Alain
