changing date value

please help me to change this value for date. date variable is "date type"

have value

date=Sun, Jan 26, 2014

want value

date=Sun, Jan 30, 2014

Jan 26 is a Sunday, Jan 30th is Thursday.

Again what's the logic, is it for only one date?

You can use the intnx function to increment a date 4 days, or simply add 4 to the date.

data Sample;

have="26Jan2014"D;

want=intnx('day', have, 4);

want2=have+4;

format have want want2 weekdate17.;

put have;

put want;

put want2;

run;
