I'm a pretty basic user.

When I try to append a compatible table to another I open up table 1 and use Append Table to select table 2. This normally works just fine. Today when I click on "add table" no window appears. EG apparently thinks there is one because it won't let me do anything else unless I escape out of the dialog.

It must be something basic, but I can't think what. Any suggestions?

Is it possible that the window is appearing but is off the visible screen?  That can create the appearance of being "locked". It can happen if you switch from multiple displays down to a single display -- EG misremembers the window location off the visible area.

When it happens, press Alt+SPACEBAR, then M (for move), and use the arrow keys to try to reposition the window.

You're not connected to your server for some reason?

Restart SAS and ensure you're connected and can see your data sets.
