Hi EG Forum,

I am very new to EG.

I created a small table using EG with the purpose of getting the "Proc tabulate code" for further manipulation.

Q:

Under "Summary Tables", there is a box like thing called "Available Statistics".

I wanted to drag the "mean" statistic from that "Available Statistics" box to the table "Preview" place but it doesn't allow.

(I was able to drag and drop only "N" statistic which I do not want).

Could any one help me.

Thanks

Miris

Is your data definitely all numeric? Presumably if it was character, but looking numeric ("1" instead of 1) then you could count the distinct values, but not average them.

On checking mine: if I drag a numeric variable into the preview I can count and average it.

If I drag a character variable in I can only count.

Is your "classification variable" in the data tab, character?

If you've only defined a class variable(s), then I believe the only available statistic will be N.

Have you defined any analysis variables?

Hi Brian and Fugue,

Thanks to both of you.

I got the problem overcome by first dragging the mumeric analysing variable.

Thanks to both of you anyway.
