I have a dual core 2 duo with 3 Gb of RAM and Win XP.
My problem is that when I am trying to perform a List Data function in my EG using SASHELP.ZIPCODE database i get a little massage in my Task Status saying "Running Proc SQL..." and this thing keeps on going on for a while.

Any suggestions on why this might be occurring and how i might increase the processing speed?

Thanks.

I would contact SAS tech support if this is constantly happening. The PROC SQL piece of the List Data task should not take up much overhead.

The first time you run something after opening EG, it may take a little longer as EG hooks in to SAS behind the scenes. After that things should be pretty speedy for small amounts of data.
