Wanted to ask if EG4.3 integrates with Visual Soruce Safe as I now have the need to implement an effective source code control process for a number of key production programs.  I have not had much luck with web searches on the subject other than some brief references to the use of Subversion.  My preferred option is the use of VSS but need some reference materials on the subject of how to integrate this tool into a SAS workflow and client.

Many Thanks,

James

I know of two options, neither pretty.

1) you can put the entier EG .egp file into VSS.  That's sort of like using VSS for Word documents.  It's more of "version preservation" thatn "version control"..

2) you can exchew the use of any of the point and click tasks and then use VSS for all of the (external) .sas files.  Sort of defeats a lot of the value of EGuide.

Let me clarify that in my case I am using SAS EG 4.3 as my program editor for code that is saved on the server as .SAS (BASE CODE) and either run as scheduled jobs or made available to other users as stored processes.  I need a better process to protect this core code and not the actual .EGP file.

Many Thanks,

James
