I am new to SAS, looking to complete my base programmer certification soon. I am just wondering how much, if any, SQL is needed to be very strong with SAS?

As data is often held in data bases having sound SQL skills is a good idea also when using SAS.

To pass the SAS advanced programmer cert SQL knowledge is a must.

how much SQL would you need to pass the base programmer exam? if any

0% SQL is needed for the Base Certification Exam. Know your DATA step really well though. 🙂
