SAS Portal corrupts when connected with SAS EG

Steps that lead to portal corruption-->

-Portal was working fine
-Started SAS Enterprise Guide 4 for the first time
-Went to : tool>options>administration>new repository and entered my machine's hostname and port (8561)
-it found the Foundation repository and finished the wizard.
-The connection established successfully but now when i opened the SAS portal it gave some Java error
-rest of the web apps are working fine.

please help..!!
