After moving SAS EG and source databases to Azure, everythig goes slow unless when reading SAS dataset.
We use MS SQL Server as our preferred data storage and link the data source with ODBC. Some libraries are preassigned.
It really consume lot for time to read and scroll in those tables from SAS EG.

So..

We decided to run SAS EG in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).  Great success.
Now opening SQL Server tabels and scrolling goes really fast. Almost no latency (lag) at all.

Running your SAS client tools in the same cloud environment as your SAS servers is a no brainer for improving performance. The shorter the data pipe the faster it will be.
