Good morning,

recently, I am facing a problem in opening/working with SAS Enterprise Guide 7.1.

Every time that I try to open it, a window appears and give me an "Application Error".

You will find a screenshot attached.

How can I fix it?

Thank you

Try deleting or renaming

%appdata%\SAS\EnterpriseGuide\7.1\EGOptions.xml

%appdata% will resolve to the location of your personal EG profile.

Hi Chris,

thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, when I change the name from "SAS.EG.Option.dll" in whatever solutions (e.g. "SAS.EGOption.dll" or "SAS.EG.Option.xlm" or "SAS.EGOption.xlm" or "EGOption.xlm" or deleting it) the results is always the same : the application doesn't work (this time, no message error appears, simply nothing happens).

Please could you suggest me other possible solutions?

Thanks a lot

Gianluigi

@JalloClem I don't think you're touching the correct file.  From your message, it looks like you're changing a file in the EG installation directory, which you should not do.  My advice was to rename/delete the EGOptions.xml file in your user profile directory -- this is where EG stores your preferences, saved in between sessions.

The file is here (paste path into Windows Explorer):

  %appdata%\SAS\EnterpriseGuide\7.1\

The file is: EGOptions.xml
