Hi,
How can I get a complete and clean uninstall all everything installed with SAS Enterprise Guide 7.15 Standalone? When I uninstall from Programs and Features 463 files are left behind (99 mb) plus 100s of registry entries. It appears the uninstall removes 99% of Enterprise Guide but leaves behind all the supporting modules (picture below).
And for some background, our business uses Microsoft’s SCCM to deploy software to staff workstations and we have 200-ish SAS users. I can get deployment of the install working nicely; but the uninstall is not acceptable as we have a policy that “what goes in must be reversible”. Staff computers are either Window 7 (64 bit) or Windows 10 (64 bit)
Thank you.
Hi @RosemaryM,
The EG (and AMO) standalone installers do not currently handle this well. As you noted, the shared components are not uninstalled. I won't bore you with the technical reason, but I can say that we have plans to address this in the future (by way of full MSI installers for the product and all its dependencies).
In the meantime, if full uninstall cleanup is a requirement, a 3rd-party tool is probably the best way to accomplish. One example is Revo Uninstaller.
Also, I believe traditional deployment (the SAS Deployment Wizard) handles this better than the standalone installer, so you could try it instead.
