SAS Enterprise Guide 4.1 (4.1.0.1000) responses slowly to keyboard

Hello,

I use the EG of the above version. I encounter a problem lately. When I edit a program of 2638 lines, the editor responds very slowly to my keyboard when the cursor is somewhere near the end of the program. The response is not slow in all the area near the end of the program. In some lines, it is normal. Did anyone have similar problems?

does EG not allow you to break the 2638 line program into modules invoked with %include ?

I suggest contacting SAS technical support. I don't think that the refreshed version of EG is a factor -- this might be a limitation in the enhanced editor.

Try this:
- Go to Tools->Options->SAS Programs
- Choose "Editor Options..."
- Uncheck the "Collapsable code sections" checkbox.

See if that improves the performance for this case.

I contacted the SAS technical support. They said they never heard any similar complaints. I even sent the problematic source code to them. They told me they did not have the problem when opening it with EG.

I'm glad the workaround helped you. There is a pending hotfix (not yet released) for the enhanced editor to address this issue.
