I received a laptop from a client to use for their programming. It is a Lenovo T450 Windows10 laptop with 14" screen and 1366x768 resolution, 64-bit with 8 GB memory. I connected the laptop via dataport 1.2 to my 4k monitor. The laptop does have an Intel 5500 graphics chip so it does support 4k. So far all of the applications display fine on the external monitor... except SAS EG for some issues.

1. When I open SAS EG 7.15 (HF2) with SAS 9.4, I have some problems with scaling of some items.  The icons at the top of the EG are very tiny, as are the icons in the server window. Looking at prior comments, it appears that EG uses icons of fixed size and that in future versions of EG, they will go to SVG (scaled vector graphics) icons. I thought that the sas tech said that he created a fix in HF1 but I have HF2 and fix is not there yet. Anyone have any ideas when that will be available?

2. The Process Flow layout page also uses tiny icons and the text is large for the tiny area allowed for it, and wraps for the filenames under the tiny layout icons. The grid is very fine so the area available for the text is too small. The process flow layout portion is a small portion and does not scale up when expanding the frame.

3. The bottom half of the status bar at the bottom of the whole EG window is truncated, but I am able to use the Task Status view, but I lose some info not available in the task status... eg, location of the cursor in the editor.

4. When looking at some of the Tools Options with labels that have 2 lines in a checkbox label area, they are truncated top and bottom... for example the Results Viewer choices have several of these.

Does anyone have any solutions for these problems?

Thanks,

Rick

It appears that I've solved the problem with a complete update to Windows 10 and reboot. Removed dataport, reset laptop, reattached dataport...  the last step may have not been needed.

I am now running EG 7.15 (hf2) at 4k on Lenovo T450, Windows 10 to 4k external monitor.  Had to do some resizing of EG, but all looks okay now.

Thanks,

Rick
