I have been working on a SAS project and all of a sudden when I run it the following error message window pops up 10+ times:

"The project log exceeds the maximum size of 5 megabytes.

To clear or turn off the project log, select View > Project Log, and use the Clear Log or Turn Off options."

Can someone explain the issue as well as the best solution for it? I am not sure how to turn off the project log, "Enable project log for new projects" is not checked off in my options. I am using SAS EG 7.11 64 bit.

Thank you

To turn off the Project Log go to EG menu View >> Project Log >> Turn Off (this option is clearly visible in the Project Log window)

After I click "Project Log" the following message appears:
"Project Log is too large to open inside Enterprise Guide and will be opened externally".

Is there an option to turn it off in the external window?

Great. That's an option I didn't spot. As a general rule I don't bother with project logs as my programs tend to be large and I've found they slow EG performance as the logs grow.
