Hello,

I am running SAS EG Version 7.15 (7.100.5.5850) (32-bit) and started to notice that when I was testing some tables with small queries using the Query Builder (for quick testing), it is hanging up my project. It has happened to me a handful of times and I have to have our IT department kill my connection to the server and start over.

I noticed that when I 1) open a query builder, with no joins, of a single table 2) click and drag, or double click, a field to the "Select Data" box, the process of "Validate Query Builder" happens in under a second (appears on the bottom left corner under "Details", and then I am able to work. It does this on every query. In these scenarios, for some reason this process hangs up and all I see is the "Validate Query Builder". There is no solution that I can see, and was hoping someone else had experience this and had a solution that I could try.

Thank you!

Hi @cedpme

Are you having the issue with every tables, whether you're using SAS datasets or DBMS tables?

Did you try to unselect the "Automatically validate query whenever changes are made" option from Tools => Options => Query ?

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Damo

Hi @Damo, I appreciate your quick response to my issue. I did not know there was that option. I just unticked it and will followup if this does not solve it.
