If I use a proc sql with sum functions along with group by( sum function variable not included in group by),is it possible that the observation count changes in every different run. If it is then why?

It happend to one of my work. I know the solution to avoid it. I need sort before. But my question is why it is happening?

Can you provide an example with data and code?

your original data might be dynamic. it might be updating very frequently.

are you getting data from RDBMS? or SAS data mart. There are little chances that your SAS data mart also refreshes very frequently.

First confirm where you are getting data?
