I am not able to see the edit project option. also i am not able to save project and any changes made by you will lost.

This means you do not have write permission on the project file. You need to save your changes to a new file. Or request that the original owner of the file grants you write permission.

Happens to me normally when I open my EG project twice by mistake. If you have already changed code just save your project under a new name - else close it and work with the instance that you've opened first.
