We have SAS running on windows 2012 server and using Enterprise Guide to connect to the server. I am not able to see the mapped network file shares from SAS EG > SASApp > Files. I can see the local drives on the compute server but not the mapped drives. Is there any configuration to be updated in order to see the mapped drives from EG?

Thanks,

Karthik

Hi Karthik,

Unfortunately, the SAS server does not provide mapped drive information, so EG cannot expose it (in SASApp->Files location).

To be able to obtain mapped drive information, each user's profile would have to be loaded each time the workspace server was launched.  The SAS workspace server does not do this, especially since there could be thousands of users on a system.  Thus, mapped drives on the server are not available in EG's SASApp->Files location.

Casey

ps- For clarification, EG can access files from local (client machine) mapped drives fine.  The limitation above is specific to mapped drives defined on the server.
