Using EG 8.2 Update 4,

It use to be that when I clicked an icon for a generated text listing (.lst file) generated by and placed by EG I the results tab of a program node, then that listing would open in the same, current-instance of EG.  I'm finding that the when I do this now, and if I have another instance of EG running beside the current, then there is a chance that the listing is opened in the other instance, and not the current.

Is this a SAS Tech issue or a SAS Ballot request?

Good question.  I've seen similar behavior if I double click on a .sas7bdat file.

I would call Tech Support.  They can advise you if it's a configuration issue, a bug, or a "feature" (i.e. "that's just how SAS EG works").  If it's a feature, then you might create a SAS ballot.

In my experience programs and output always open in the originally opened version of EG and not necessarily the one you have open onscreen. I'm using EG 8.

Are you able to test this behaviour on another PC to see if it is the same or not? What version of EG are you using?

8.2 Update 4.  I'll edit the post.   I can use another computer, but I'm going to need to get back to you to arrange that.
