In SAS, is there a difference between saying:

select * from table where col1 is missing

and

select * from table where col1 = .

We assume that col1 is numeric.

When I am not sure the the variable type, I tend to use MISSING() function, which will cover both Char and Number, and within Number, these wired missing values such as .z, .B, ._ etc.
